Underworld Adventurer

On a mission to restore the petrified Fredrick Featherstone to flesh, Bors the Bald made some decision of regret involving the cave elves. Following the events festivities of  the  Resplendent Fête , a group of the Red Riders set out to collect one of the three crucial ingredients for making the stew that reverse the aliment that is preventing Copra Kaan from healing. Based on research performed by Copra, it was believed that some wight mushrooms (known for growing in resting places of the dead) could be found in a tomb at the center of Orm's graveyard. It is said to be the resting place of a Sorcerer King that ruled over Orm centuries ago.  Back at the dawning days of autumn, a group of the Red Riders left from the Drinking Crow to journey into the Complex. They aimed to join a pair of lunar elves, Aureal and Ruitat, on their spiritual quest give to them by their Dreaming Tree: journey into the plane-hopping dungeon called the Black Pyramid. Visions of this foreboding structure had plagued the citizens of Orm for over a year. They grew more ominous and vivid with each passing day until it had materialized within the Great Cavern. What would they find within the pyramid? The Red Riders that had lived among lunar elves had been told it contained wealth beyond their wildest dreams. More importantly, the structure was a spiritual trial that could result in profound understandings. This view was not shared by others. **This post is a continuing work in progress** In the shadow of the Impossible Keep, rests the settlement of Orm. The walled community rests where the Gloaming Hills meet Sourwood Marsh. Allowing no entry from the coast of the Cerulean Sea, Orm has commanded the marshland for Aeons. Once, durinng the peak of the Empire-That-Was, Orm possessed legendarily decadent gardens. Their ruins rest above New Orm along with crumbling remnants of structures from when the Cerulean Sea stood taller. This shell of a past grandeur, the Orm-of-Old, is visible throughout all points in the modern township and reminds its citizens that the greatest days of Orm have past. All know that the current ruler of Orm, the Rani, cannot accept this truth which is apparent to her subjects. Like many of the local petty rulership across Ur-Dan, she declares Orm a City-State.  Agera wanted to know what her employer's fellow adventurers had been up to. She had spent the week running errands for Crambo while he continued to develop his new spell in relative seclusion. At the Drinking Crow, the Child of Permoa found that Copra Kaan was still absent--offering his services to the 111th Company. Bludoon still toiled at the Last Meal . Armeen still focused on the Shrine of Danu. This, though, isn't to say that she didn't know any of the adventurers posted up at the tavern. She joined the victorious party from last week raised glasses to a job well done. They also drank to Petra P finding a way to stand out from her copy cat street performers through the incorporation of floating glass spheres into her act. The groups' cups were being kept full by an adoring shadowkin youth named Teela Rin. As thoughts turned towards future adventures, Bors Redbeard seized the moment to share a lead he had gained from the duelist Wolfgang over at the Burning Witch. ...

 Most of the Red Riders continued fill their lives with tasks other than adventuring. Copra Kaan continued his path of offering his services to the 111th Company of Orm in hopes of making amends. Crambo was still absent from the Crow as he toiled away to create his first original spell. Bludoon's focus remained locked in on his food stall, the Last Meal . Armeen was guiding Chauncy through his studies of the practices of the clergy of Danu.  Petra P was drowning her troubles at the Drinking Crow . In her time between adventures, she had started to make a name for herself doing street performances with her dungeon terriers and magic elephant. Her budding popularity has seen a bunch of copy cat acts start up, all hoping to make some quick coin off the craze she started. She needed to done something soon to distinguish her act or she would become lost in the shuffle. The only other Red Rider to join Petra was Fr. Bert, eager to discover what he had missed in his time focusing on ...

The Red Riders were absent this week at the Drinking Crow. The vat spawn antaur Copra Kaan was off undertaking his first mission as a hirelng under the 111th Company. Fr. Bert joined heads with Bludoon as they worked to step up their efforts feeding the orphans of Orm. Armeen was dedicating his time around the Shrine of Danu-- mentoring young Chauncy in the way of the faith and starting up the Shrines endless torch offering (only 250gp ea.). Crambo, have ascended to the level of "Philosopher" in the Transcendental Congress of Aureate Precepts was beginning his work in crafting a new spell. That left old allies the elfin ring master Petra P. and black grass abetment specialist Bors Redbeard to swap old stories of the Dragon Slayers around the Drinking Crow. Fellow patrons could hear stories of adventures (and adventurers past) like name-making defeat of a fire breathing dragon or the Ur-Dan spanning chase of Big Time Hashimi.  Journeyman Crannoc approached the adventurers based out of the Drinking Cow with a offer. The philosopher of the Transcendental Congress had discovered some information about the strange metallic card his sorting spell found among the treasures of the Dreaming Dragon. It appears that it is a key to a laboratory of some vivamancers from the Empire-That-Was on Level 5 of 'The Complex'. He wanted to offer a chance to explore this area with him to the party that were there when he found the card. The group eagerly agreed to join in. Bludoon took a pass to continue to feed the orphans of Orm but Crambo slotted in to fill his place on the expedition. Armeen purchased 50gp of vegetables to deliver to the Ogre Monks of Law on their way. With that set, the following party descended into the cellar of the Athenaeum of the Dying Sun to investigate Level 5 of dungeon: Armeen of the Two Rivers (Level 6 Cleric of Danu) Copra Kaan (Level 6 Vat Spawn Antaur) Crambo (Level 4 Goblin Magic-User)...

Following the defeat of the Eye of Terror,  the adventurers based out of the Drinking Crow had hired out the Phantomorians to hold the Pool of Life so no other adversarial forces could claim it. They also have hired out the Midnight Marauders to deliver the weighty 1800gp per week fee to the Phantomorians on the 2nd Level of the Complex. This first week, though, following the multi-pronged campaign saw the group planning to return to that very area. One of their stalwart members, the errant friar Fr. Bert, had been turned to stone by a ray shot by one of the Eye of Terror's eyes. On this return delve, the group would be down Bludoon. The dwarfin chef has decided to dedicate his time to feeding the orphans of Orm while Bert is incapable of the task. In addition, Armeen's retainer Jubal has decided to retire. This brush with death delivered by the Eye of Terror while his employer was ensorcelled into the monster's service was too much for him. Jubal had developed a real faith...

For the second wave of the attack on the forces of the Eye of Terror and their allies, the Demon & Dragon Slayers of the Drinking Crow planned on taking the attack to the Eye's lieutenant the minotaur named Tormando. They had battled beastly humanoid once before--and they had won! Copra Kaan even claimed Tormando's horns for his own. Yet--with the aid of the Pool of Life--the tyrannical Eye revived his middle manager. Rumors had persisted since that Tarmando now wore a helm with metal horns as a replacement. To prevent Tormando or any of the other targets from getting reinforcements, the adventurers form the Drinking Crow hired the Midnight Marauders to neutralize the Eye of Terror's force of vat-bred soldiers that were garrisoned on Level 1 of 'The Complex'. At first, the group thought to use the poison Armeen had acquired to poison the gnome-brewed ale and spirits the Eye's solider drank. Conversation than shifted to using a whole barrel of Sweet Dreams to...

Following the second haul of dragon treasure the adventurers based out of the Drinking Crow pulled from the depths of 'The Complex', Armeen decided to put his/her hard earned coin towards bettering the Shrine of Danu. The cleric contracted the services of One-Arm to build a more permanent structure around the shrine in the Alley of the Gods. Key to Armeen's plans is an infirmary on the grounds where anyone seeking to offer their services as a healer my work. Wanting to not anger the sphinxes, Armeen spent addition gold on making sure there were improvements to where they live within the shrine. When Armeen rejoined their fellow adventurers at the Burning Witch, they were all ready for adventure. Fr. Bert had spent the week providing food to the orphans of Orm. Bludoon was still processing the ancient ritual to even more ancient powers he partook in during the Solstice. All, though, were ready to turn towards a task that Copra Kaan's very being yearned to complete. When ...

“With the goblin Magician’s adventures transforming him into such a grand and esteemed member of this body then , surely , we would all benefit from what magical insights he will uncover when left to his own devices until the next meeting . Surely , we will all be gob smacked in their profundity .”   These reproving words of the Archwizard Merzhin rang through the ears of the magic-user Crambo on his journey back to Orm. The head of the Transcendental Congress of the Aureate Precepts didn't seem to care much for the magician cursed to live as a goblin's repeated showing off of his shadow-steed duplicate of Copra Kaan or constant sharing of his tales of adventures in other planes. What reflection there was to be had there, Crambo probably did none of it as he was not the type of waste his thought on such things. Still, he was left with the sting of the rebuke.
