Burning Witch Adventurers Session #51- Fight Night! *Updated*

Image
Ever since he established the Wolves Den , the duelist Wolfgang has been shaken down every week for 100gp by the Rashers- a local clan of halflings that run the underground fighting circuit in Orm. After debating helping out the Rashers by making a move on a Crooked Hand operation on the outskirts of Orm, Wolfgang decided instead to form a crew to act on some intel throw his way by Fancy Jean-Yves Beauvollier. Here is a pretty through recap (made in-game) from GaWoosh's player Curtis: Loot The hat and sword of one Billow Rasher One lock box filled 420cp, 12224sp, 156ep, and 336gp (including 100gp in assort coins with stamps making them recognizable as coming from the Complex, i.e. Thea, GaWoosh, PakPak, Dogmouth, and Wolfgang's failed bets from the tied fight).  Experience Points 540xp for treasure to be discovered once the lock box is opened Rasher tuffs defeated 8 x 20xp Billow Rasher defeated 1 x 125xp Player Character Cut 56gp, 26ep, 204sp, and 70cp ea. 137xp ea. Fancy's Intelligence on the Rashers

Fancy delivers to Wolfgang the following unlabeled map of the Rashers' Hideout in a ruined aqueduct in the ruins of Orm-of-Old. He also informs the duelist that tomorrow night, the Rashers will be holding one of the biggest pit fight nights of the year. The fights take place an old barracks that, at some less enlightened time in Orm-of-Old held slaves. The Rashers make a good haul from the fights. It takes most of the members of the gang to take bets and keep an eye out for rivals like the Crooked Hand . At midnight, the Rasher lieutenant, Billow, brings back a strong box to the Rashers HQ with a crew of hand-picked escorts.

Update Map of the Great Cavern  The Riverborn Scamandros, fresh from a wild round of carousing along the Twilight Shores, returns to the mortal realm eager to revisit the Great Cavern last explored two fort nights ago. The Great Cavern being a vast unexplored area, it was not hard for the Magician to pull together a crew to join him. The following party was seen walking along the beach headed towards that peculiar patch of black grass:  Abraxis (Level 3 Fighting Mutant) Frim Frimerson (Level 2 Fighter) Hate Pit (Level 3 Vat Spawn) Journeyman Crannoc (Level 4 Magic-User) Scamandros (Level 4 Magic-User) Kiddo (Level 3 Magic-User) The party returned over a day later, exhausted and smelling like an odd combo of stagnate vegetation and fried food. They were carrying more strange arms and armor too large to fit members of the adventuring population of Orm. Currently, the party seems pretty mum about the details of their expedition though Frim Frimerson will tell anyone about how good deep

Dragon Slayers of the Drinking Crow Session #24- More Stone Cold Adventure

Image
The petrified Fredrick Featherstone stood in a place of honor at the Drinking Crow with his faithful ghost hound Gregor (also petrified) next to him. With Fredrick currently a piece of statuary and Bors Redbeard away taking care of some family business, the Dragon Slayers needed to increase their numbers. They weighed their possibilites as Copra Kaan distributed out the shares of recent sales of Sleepy Time . Much to Malagath Finbaros' displeasure, the rest of his group took a liking to a elf recently arrived in Orm- Petra...Pigeon...or...Puddington...or Partridge...it was definitely Petra P. As they welcomed Petra into their numbers, the group discussed a return to 'The Complex' only to quickly fall into indecision. Copra Kaan piped in that he wouldn't mind exploring more of those doors around the sphinxes they rescued last time. If that, the group following headed north, through the ruins of Orm-of-Old and into the cellar dungeon entrance: Copra Kaan (Level 5 Vat Sp

Burning Witch Adventurers Session #49- Along the Twilight Shores

The kobold adventurer PakPak wanted to travel to the Twilight Shores. His vat spawn compatriot and he were in the possession of the tanned hide of the Slithering Devil . PakPak had discovered from the local black smith's apprentice, Meag, a story about a legendary leather worker skilled enough to turn the leather into armor. The problem was, 200 years ago the leather worker was lurked to the fey realm of the Twilight Shores to enter into the service of that realm's elfin regent, Lady Blackmarsh. The idea of traveling to the Shores intrigued several fellow patrons gathered around the Burning Witch's common table. The first trouble facing such an expedition was securing an invitation allowing a party of mortals to journey to the Twilight Shores. The Magician Scamandros suggested that try to arrange a visit to sell some of his black fruit wine to the Margrave Quinus rescued the week before . Scamandros' fellow Phasmo then remembered rumors of hobs drinking above the Dri

Hex #0809 During a recent excursion  into the Complex, PakPak created some excitement for returning to Sourwood Marsh with talks of stuck interplanar ships and theories of its connections to recent unusual events. This especially rekindled a desire on the part of the Beholder Phasmo to return to the mysteries of the swamp land. While the magic-user was present in the first investigatory expedition into the marshlands west of Orm, he was not part of the group that discovered the ship trapped in a cave. A group comprising of members of previous expeditions into Sourwood along with a few pair of eyes fresh to Sourwood Marsh began to form around the ideas of trying to collect the reward for rescue the Margrave Quinus and slaying the mysterious monster roaming the swamp while they looked for this strange ship. The following party set out for the fishing village of Kêm  (Point #2 in Hex #0809) talking about renting a boat from 'Duber': Fancy Jean-Yves Beauvollier (Level 5 Bard)

The Word Around Orm on the Twilight Shores

Image
The people of Orm do not know much about the fey realm called The Twilight Shores. If they are to be asked they would say it is "distant" and home to "elves" or "spirits" or some other unusual beings. As distant it maybe be from Orm or how peculiar its residents perhaps are, the people of Orm know that some tenuous agreement exists between them and those that dwell along those far off shores. They know that  long ago, in the final epochs of the Empire-That-Was, there was once war between the two realms. Eventually, though, a peace was brokered and both peoples still honor those ancient treaties to this day. The adventurers of Orm know a little more than this. Thrice, now, they have travel through an untouched copse of trees to journey to the Court of the ruler of the Twilight Shores: Lady Blackmarsh. First, some adventurers from the Drinking Crow traveled that path to sell a strange red liquid taken from 'The Complex' in a goblin market. Then, the
