The Festival of the Vernal Equiniox Has Come to Orm and Other News...

Image
Another fortnite has passed in the Ur-Dun region. Spring  Here are the top stories everyone in the taverns and market of Orm have been talking about: The adventurers of the Drinking Crow held a proper burial for recently fallen fellow party members Rustam of the Twin Lakes, Fräänk Shäärk, and minion to Elvria Wyld, Tom the Ax Bro. Gabby held a reception at the Crow afterwards. The Burning Witch  has been a flurry of activity among the itinerant treasure-seekers that have been swashing about Orm of late. Rosey, barkeep of the Witch , has been grateful for the extra coin as the youthful lager louts known to hang their capes at the establishment seem to be of dwindling numbers these days. When not offering toasts to Feeble Finn and his lost leg nor to PakPak the Kobold and his lost toes, the ale guzzlers buzz as to what large scale sortie the gnome Gawoosh seems to be concocting. Unionization! Figurehead of the youthful tuffs of the Burning Witch (and Prestidigitation) Banx  h

The Greatest Thieves in Orm

Image
Thieves Guilds Whether it be petty larcenies, street side  flimflam, or complicatedly executed heists: all crime in Ur-Dun's population centers are run through the local thieves guild. While none reach the grand scale of the syndicate that once regulated all criminal pursuits in the nearby seat of the Empire-That-Was, these operations can still operate with a masterful secrecy and ruthless efficiency matching even the most storied guild of days passed. The guilds of Ur-Dun vary greatly in internal custom, style, and work culture but they do share several traits across region that allow thieves and other criminals to practice with craft smoothly and the guilds to maintain their parochial power bases. Some of them include: License of Operations - Anyone seeking to work within the territory of a guild needs to pay a monthly cost of 2d10gp per month. Anyone caught operating but not having paid for license quickly find themselves on a guild hit list. Thieves Cant and Code -

A Couple More Recap Items from Burning Witch Adventurers Sessions #4 & #5

Image
Here is a quick post, adding a few drawings sent to me by players recap moments from recent sessions. First we have a drawing of one of the mutant tribesfolk the adventurers met in the Mushroom Fields on Level 1 drawn by Richie Bando's player Sean. Next, we have Finn Fleetfoot's player Rob giving us two recap draws. The first is fellow adventurer Avreml the Beet Thief's pocket snake. The snake was bought in the market located in the Brothers' Burrough of the Complex. This final illustration takes the cake. Rob drew a picture of their exploding barrel plan that they ran on that Level 2 opening from "The Pit" into a cave previously only seen by Drinking Crow regular Malagath. Notice the detail of the foot (recently belonging to missing hireling Atticuss that the party tied to the barrel as bait.

Burning Witch Adventurers Session #5

Days after Gawoosh's delve into the dungeon in the cliff face with several adventurers from the  Drinking Crow , he wrangled up some new faces around the  Burning Witch  for another foray into the underworld site. They returned with a large amount recently minted copper coins and three Night Lotus blossoms they unloaded on some members of the Order of the Recondite Seal. They included: Avreml Oofnik (Level 1 Beet Thief) Betina (Level 1 Fighter) Atticuss (deceased) and Looney Luna (Level-0 Tuffs) Dogmouth (Level 1 Thief) Feeble Finn (Level 1 Dwarf) Gawoosh (Level 1 Gnome) Here is a play report on what transpired from Betina's player Bast. Burning Witch Adventures Session #4

Another delve was organized out of the Burning Witch . The party included: Frim Frimerson (Level 1 Fighter) Hate Pit (Level 1 Vat-Spawn) Banx (Illusionist Level 1) PakPak (Level 1 Kobold) Richie Bando (Thief Level 1) Sergio Canksore (Half-Elf Level 1) Since the last delve into the dungeon from a group based in the Burning Witch , Frim Frimerson has been seen doing odd jobs around the market. PakPak has been spending some of his time down by the harbor at the Drinking Crow  sharing drinks with the Redbeards. Hate Pit entered a long-term employment agreement with Banx, former tuff-turned-illusionist. Rumor has it that Richie Bando got beaten to a score by another thief. Here is a drawing from the session by Hate Pit's player Marie: PakPak gets Hate Pit to spit some hallucinogenic spit into some jars for a scheme he is running while Banxs adjusts to life with some X-Ray eyes.

Adventurers of the Drinking Crow Session #4

A week after Ostara had passed and the Old Gods had performed their processional, the skies over Orm may have been gray and misting but once again Gabby's ale was on tap at the Drinking Crow . A group of regulars were giving a newly arrived cleric, Bjorn Firebeard, the whats what on this underworld they have been exploring over some drafts when Gawoosh burst into the tavern. The Burning Witch frequenter had a thing or two to say about PakPak being poached last delve but as soon as he stepped foot in the place, all of that seemed to dissipate. Next thing you know, a party was forming for another delve. Its members included: Bjorn Firebeard (Level 1 Cleric of the Mythic Groundhog)  Elvira Wyld of Odellwood Abby (Level 1 Gothic Villain) The Battleaxe Bros Biff (deceased) and Tom (0-Level Drunks) Gawoosh (Level 1 Gnome) Malagath Feneros (Level 1 Elf) Rustam of the Twin Lakes (Level 1 Cleric) The Redbeards: Bors, Lefty, and Whiskers (Level 1 Dwarves) Below is the latest e

The Procession of the Old Gods is Here And Other News Around Orm

Image
In these gray post-Ostara days, here is the latest new in Orm: It seems that it will take more than the return of the Vas family's wayward scion  Dr ü g   for the family to put his circumstances to rest. It was maybe the biggest news to hit Orm when a group of misfit troubleshooters carried through town the thoroughly  tied up  Dr ü g, fighting and squirming the whole way. There was quite the scene. Iouri Vas,  Dr ü g's father, claims his son was stricken with a strange alignment during his disappearance. The jar mogul  is now offering a reward of 1,000gp to anyone who can undo his son's current state. News of  Dr ü g's return has reached all the way to the Impossible Fortress . The castle steward, Merdinus , has taken a keen personal interest in the matter. The venerable dwarf has been seen visiting the Vas home and scouring the taverns of Orm trying to locate those that know more about  Dr ü g's circumstances. Earlier this past fortnight, eight ca
