Underworld Adventurer

 *Just a quick DMs note. Do to health issues from work, I have to limit my time on the computer. As a result, for the foreseeable future, recaps will be more bare bones on my end with me mainly providing rosters and any xp/treasure breakdowns.  Following the advice of the elfin archivist Glowerm, PakPak made a visit to the ruins of the Subtle Chateau. He presented a raven that roosts in a courtyard tree there with a small piece of jewelry packed from his adventuring gear. In exchange, the blackbird crowed at PakPak: " For a joining not wholly mortal nor wholly fey, to perform a being that walks between both laws must be swayed. Mine own feather was used to write the contract that binds, in an Impossible place is where those inscribed words one may find." PakPak mulled over the meaning of the raven’s words. After taking some guesses of his own, he met with Kiddo, Phasmo, and Crannoc of the Athenaeum of the Dying Sun to see what insights they might have. He shared with them that he thought possibly that the "not wholly mortal nor wholly fey" part of the raven's reply could refer to a half while "Impossible place" might refer to the seat of power in Orm, Impossible Fortress.  Fr. Bert had gone missing. The errant friar got sucked into another dimeson by a trap that only left behind his sandals. After some frantic investigating around Orm, the remaining Demon Slayers decided to recruit some extra assistance for their efforts to rescue the missing clergy man. They picked up a new regular from the Drinking Crow before heading off to the Athenaeum of the Dying Sun . They could be overheard discussing with the Magician Phasmo children's tales of a place called "The World of Reflection", the Mirror Tongue, and the infiltration of the Crooked Hand by otherworldly beings. The following statement was added to the records of the Athenaeum of the Dying Sun by the Librarian Valtropis covering the event around Phasmo's (with Scamndros' aid) questioning of a prisoner: When Wolfgang, PakPak, Hate Pit, and Phasmo returned from their last expedition into 'The Complex', they brought back with them two prisoners. One, seemingly PakPak's deceased wife L'dy Meggee. The other was a spitting image for the vat born adventurer known as 'No Leg' (though, free of the injuries to his legs form an adventuring party and strange trap in 'The Complex'). Phasmo wanted to keep them at the Athenaeum of the Dying Sun unguard constant guard for he was certain the pair were in his words, "powerful demonic mirror doppelgangers". L'dy Meggee was to be kept in one of her widower's jars as she was in a shrunken hob form. During their last delve into 'The Complex', the Dragon Slayers of the Drinking Crow encountered strange doubles of themselves within the the dungeon depths. Bors Redbeard shared a recounting of his dream and the encounter with these duplicates with the Beholder Phasmo after a shared expedition to recover the missing adventurers Riverborn Scamandros and Crambo. The description of the encounter and the appearance of the orb the dwarf showed to Phasmo peaked the magic-user's interest as it all reminded him of tales he once read while studying the Mirror Tongue. A reoccurring element in several tales involve beings from the other side of the mirror using stealing a piece of a being from this world and combining it with a strange reflective orb to create crude mirror versions of the being from this side of the mirror.
