Down With the Eye of Terror, Up With Fashionable New Dog Looks, And Other News Around Orm
A perigean full moon rose as the harvest moon above Ur-Dan. With it came the fall of an eye tyrant and magical new culinary delights along with the rest of the news around Orm.
The Eye of Terror defeated!- Four joint strikes executed by adventurers has seen the reign of the Eye of Terror come to an end. The first group in freed the Children of Peroma from the Eye collaborating leadership of Attuk and his right-hand ogre Zonk. A second saw a group press all the way down to the Pool of Life and slayed the Eye of Terror themself in battle. A third saw the crushing defeat of a pair of demons known as the Mariliths--allies of the Eye that ruled over the former cells of the Imperial Mother on Level 1.
Midnight Maruaders Grizzly Battle for Life- Key to this plan was the hiring of the Midnight Marauders to deliver a barrel of Sweet Dreams to put the Eye's forces on Level 1 to sleep. The Marauders returned from their mission with Ferris the Living Harness badly damaged. Shelby the Sibling Snail, leader Souz'awn, and Many-Faced Gene were all covered in the pearlescent liquid from the Pool of Life. They report that while the gas was highly effective against most of the Eye of Terror's forces, a group of mostly vat made gorilla folk resisted. They nearly defeated the Marauders with only Ferris and the mutant Macara left standing. They were able to bring their fellow Marauders to the Pool of Life which had been secured by the Phantomorians. The occupying force demanded all of the coin treasure the Maruaders would collect from the Eyes forces as payment for use of the Pool. While Souz'awn and Shelby were fully revived by the magic of the Pool, Many-Faced Gene has been stricken by the same aliment as folks like Tome Berry, fellow Marauder Carabas, and the feathered beast Plumes have experienced after a use of the Pool of Life has gone wrong. In addition, Macara reports the neither she nor Ferris could slit the throat of a natural gorilla folk mother and her toddler that were among the Eye's forces. They let them go off into the dungeon.
Mutants Want To Return Home- With the forces of the Eye of Terror routed and Attuk removed, a few of the Children of Peroma living in Orm want to return to the tribe. It is true that some of their group like Abraxas or FKA Klang have found lives as adventurers or as assistants to adventurers like Agera, Sofee, and Macara. Some like the mutants Sir Mo and Mixus are eager to return home. With the instability in 'The Complex', they are looking for adventurers to guide them home. They only have their meager savings of 12gp to offer as payment. Depending on how long it takes for a glowing moss operation to start up, Synos may abandon the project to return home.
Jubal-Ant New Canine Looks- The retired retainer Jubal has purchased a wagon with aims to return to life as an itinerant dog shaver. He offers standard grooming for 1sp per dog. He hopes, with a aid of addition funds, to start offering elaborate looks from the land of Wishery as soon as he secures the funds for surprise. He can currently be found at the market in Orm.
Automated Stalls Find New Life- The Automated Stalls at the Athenaeum of the Dying Sun have been restocked! Offerings had been dwindling but Journeyman Crannoc worked with his winter fey assist Usha to dream up a series of new delights. Geoph the Gnome, Orm's resident adventuring guide publisher and dungoen cuisine critic, raves that the marshmallow cloud-like Zefir is the true stand out. He says, "It is a marvel that Usha is able to capture the morose character of sky in such of tasty treat." Another favorite are lemon hard candies said to help dungeon delivers deal with the air pressure changes when returning to the suface. Other offerings include several varieties of toffee and clumsy bear candies. Also on tap: a teaming with Riverwine for a series of young beers each chilled by the breath of the winter elf. Geoph says, "Kiddo gave me a sneak peak. My favorite was the spruce beer-- it reminded me of growing up in the Gloaming Hills."
