Burning Witch Adventurers Session #38- Zotul Watches

Image
According to the adventurers from the Drinking Crow , Rosie is dead. The replacement bar keep of the Burning Witch has settled into operating the tavern. Due to Yellow Fever, the crowds are still light. A couple of adventurers freshly recovered from Yellow Fever joined some of their fellows in planning the next expedition into 'The Complex'. A meandering discussion of plans lands on visiting the Cathedral to Zotul on Level 3. The following party headed north to the ruins of Orm-of-Old after a plan was settled on: Abraxis (level 2 Fighting Mutant) Fancy Jean-Yves Beauvillers (Level 3 Bard) Turq and Turwin (Level 0 retainers) Freedom (Sapient Cat) DT (dungeon doggie) Two unnamed vampire frogs Yeoman Klang (Level 1 Thief hireling) Journeyman Crannoc (Level 4 Magic-User) Scamandros (Level 3 Magic-User) Kiddo (Level 1 Magic-User retainer) The party returned with Yeoman Klang burned even further (this time by acid). they had with them two tables made of admantine, two corpses of gia...

Dragon Slayers of the Drinking Crow Session #18 **Updated with Bors' Journal Entry**

Image
Mere days after their last expedition, the adventurers our of the Drinking Crow meet once again (minus the hero Malagath) to venture into the Complex. There is talk of exploring Level 3 of the Complex but Fredrick Featherstone redirects conversation to investigating the "Pool of Life" on the Level 2. The following crew set out towards the Complex carrying scythes: Bors Redbeard (Level 4 Dwarf) Lefty Redbeard (Level 1 Dwarf hireling) Copra Kaan (Level 1 Vat Spawn) Fredrick Featherstone (Level 4 Vestigater) Gregor the Gray Ghosthound (faithful pooch) Willow the Wisp (Level 2 Illusionist) About an hour later, the party returned from the beach with Bors Redbeard looking especially tired. After dropping off their scythes, the headed north into the ruins of Orm-of-Old. Late afternoon, the party returned, covered in dirt. Copra and Bors possessed some mild acid burns. Gregor the Ghosthound was no longer grey as his fur had turned shock white. The were carrying a large quantity of s...

The Dragon Slayers of the Drinking Crow Session #17- Re-Death to the Zombie Lord!

The crew of adventurers based out of the Drinking Crow  left on their latest delve into 'The Complex' not on their regular fortnightly schedule. They had decided one adventurer without Bors Redbeard was enough for them. Plus the dwarf didn't want to miss out on the defeat of the long rumored 'Zombie Lord'. So, they decided to delay a few more days until the dwarfin adventurer had fully regained his strength from an ugly case of Yellow Fever. As the following group plotted their regicide (can the slaying of a zombie be called that?), Malagath could be heard muttering strong oaths against the Midnight Maruader Captain Sir Rolf Van Pattyn: Bors Redbeard (Level 4 Dwarf) Left Redbeard (Level 1 Dwarf hireling) Copra Kaan (Level 1 Vat Spawn) Fredrick Featherstone (Level 4 Vestigater) Gregor the Gray Ghosthound (faithful pupper) Malagath Finbaros (Level 3 Elf) Yeoman Klang (Level 1 Thief hireling) Willow the Wisp (Level 2 Illusionist) The party returned victorious and most...

Burning Witch Adventurers Session #37- The Basalt Mausoleum

Image
Things may be a little out of sorts at the Burning Witch. The crowds have been a little light and the bar keep, Rosie, hasn't been seen in days. A stranger chewing on a steady supply of tooth picks is serving up the tavern's signature chestnut ale in her stead. On one end of the common table, though, a group of four adventurers reunite after many of them have been laid up with Yellow Fever. For them, for a moment, things are like they were eight months ago when the group were a fresh-faced lot newly arrived in Orm to see what adventure awaited. They talk of going to the market of the brothers to collect a serpent hide and see what action waits. On the following groups exit of the Witch, Thea Noir mentions a quick stop she needs to make along the way:  GaWoosh (Level 2 Gnome) Ur-Lek (Level 1 Vat Spawn Fighter) Hate Pit (Level 2 Vat Spawn) PakPak (Level 3 Kobold) Thea Noir (Level 3 Assassin) The group returned without Thea Noir in their number but laden with the largest haul of t...

Dragon Slayers of the Drinking Crow Session #16 Two Play Report Updates

Here are two player-provided write-ups for Session #16  of the adventures of the group based out of the Drinking Crow . The first is from a new PC played by Shahnu as Bors recoveres from Yellow Fever-- Zamir "Small Time" Hashmi: Ha! Returning this favor and helping Bors' friends in The Complex was more lucrative than I thought it would be, and we didn't get any loot from that damned place either!  Maybe mediation and haggling is my true calling? I should start doing this more often.  But to think that the rumors are true! To be able to raise someone from the dead!  True, we can't raise up people who've died a long time ago, but still, this is a wonder in itself! There are many questions left though, like is this a finite resource? Well no worries, it seems like Bors is still sick so I might be helping out more, after that, maybe trying to join the Midnight Marauders isn't a bad idea? I'll have to think more on that later.    The second is a goo-covered...

Latest News Around Orm- Yellow Fever Update #3

The streets and alleys of Orm have been pretty quiet has Yellow Fever continues spread through the population. That hasn't stopped some gossip to spread about town. Here is some of what the citizens are talking about: Under the advisement of healers brought in to Orm by messengers paid for by Bors Redbeard, the citizenry of the city-state have mostly locked themselves inside whenever possible. Those that can afford it have temporarily relocated as they wait for the outbreak to pass. None of this, of course, has not prevented all transmissions of the illness. Several prominent community members including Orm Civil Defense Force Commander Ironside, the Bronze Knight of the Order of the Dragon Dame Galathea, and Lady Celestine Muirk of the Society of Coruscating Seal along with several more members of the 111th Company have all fallen ill. A member of the hireling organization 2 Paks and the adventurer Willow the Wisp have both died from Yellow Fever while Frim Frimerson has fallen i...

The Dragon Slayers of the Drinking Crow Session #16- The Resurrection of Willow the Wisp

Yellow Fever had finally struck the adventurers based out of the Drinking Crow and the mood in the tavern was dower. Bors Redbeard survived the illness but has only begun a long recovery. Willow the Wisp fared much worse and the Minor Trickster passed on in the night before the groups next planned delve into the 'Complex'. Bors' brother Gabby (owner of the Drinking Crow ) tipped the group off to rumors of a delve by the Midnight Marauders that might be able to help them return their fallen comrade to the realm of the living. While the group pursued the tip on the Midnight Marauders, the meeting of the two adventuring groups was a sour one. The elfin ex-patriot from the Twilight Realms Malagath Finbaros disparaged the reputation of Marauders leading to the young woman who claims to be company commander Sir Rolf Van Pattyn to challenge Malagath (whom some call 'Hero') to a duel. Luckily, newcomer dungeon delver to the Drinking Crow scene Zamir 'Small Time' H...
