Burning Witch Adventurers Session #87- Exploring the Spire of the Imperial Mother

The dwarven dungeon chef Bludoon had found success on his last adventure finding the ingredients for a top quality dish to impress the Order of the Dragon. The problem was, Drinking Crow regular Father Bert produced one of equal quality. The Bronze Dragon herself, the Dame Galatea, decided that only with a battle between the two adventuring cooks would resolve their competition. The knightly order's Hunter's Moon feast turned into a sudden death culinary face-off.

In the end, Father Bert prevailed. Back at the Burning Witch, Bludoon nursed his loss over drinks. Commiserating with him was Wolfgang, fresh off of a month long absence from adventuring due to the loss of his off-hand arm. There were sorrows to be loss and a handful of of other adventuring regulars of the Witch help spin the pair from their sorrows towards dreams of adventure and loot. After a few drinking sessions worth of plotting, the following group were seen headed off towards the beaches east of Orm and the Iron Gate of the Rani:

  • Bludoon (Level 1 Dwarf)
  • Fancy Jean-Yves Beauvollier (Level 5 Bard)
    • Peaches (Level 4 Thief retainer)
    • Freedom (sapient cat)
    • D.T. (dungeon terrier)
    • Theela Rule (Level 0 Amazon hireling)
  • Journeyman Crannoc (Level 5 Magic-User)
  • Maevra Lun (Level 1 The Plagued)
  • Ngorome (Level 1 Magic-User)
  • Wolfgang (Level 4 Duelist)
The party returned through the gate with no taxes to pay and a look of fear in their eyes. The group smelled of fire and fresh paint. Eavesdroppers and snoops overhearing conversation as the group returned noticed mention of a vault, a puzzle, and lion guards.

I know that Ngorome and Bludoon and spending time to familiarize themselves with the "magic staves" that the Gorilla Folk use that are a part of the horde of dungeon finds amassed by the Burning Witch community. Please let me know of any other downtime activities that anyone would like their PC to take.

The Magic Staves of the Gorilla Folk: Range Attk for 1d10 DMG (exploding DMG on a 10). Range 120'/240'/360' Three "charges" can be used before the source of the charges must be replaced. Those using one of these staves in small enclosed spaces (like a small room or a hallway) must Save vs Paralysis or be deafened for 1d6 turns.
