Burning Witch Adventurers Session #86- Giant Lizard Hunt

 Bludoon sought to enter the cooking contest set up by the Order of the Dragon. The dwarfin chef dreamed of making giant lizard tail stuffed with glowing mushrooms. He pulled together a hunting party to travel down to the river on Level 2 of 'The Complex' to catch one of those deadly lizards whose like that had previous killed some adventurers. Adding to the pressure, Bludoon had heard of the rumor of the bar-setting dish Father Bert had created over the white-hot scales of a demon. The following party could be seen lugging bear traps and ghillie suits towards the Iron Gate of the Rani:

  • Bex (Level 1 Vat Spawn)
  • Bludoon (Level 1 Dwarf)
  • Dawg Dog (Level 1 Cleric of Zotul)
    • Drone 7 (Level 0 ex-Red Hive Drone hireling)
  • Maevra Lun (Level 1 Plague Thief)
    • Shoeless Vo (Level 1 Thief hireling)
  • Ngorome (Level 1 Magic-User)
    • Palla (Level 0 Amazon hireling)
The party returned through the Iron Door of the Rani about three hours later. They were forced to pay a 10gp tax on the waterskin of red liquid they had collected. They were heavy with sacks of lizard meat, glowing mushrooms, and shelf mushrooms. They hauled the sack up to Bludoon's market stall. Bludoon then followed Ngorome over to Riverwine to pick up some black fruit wine before getting to work.

At his stall, Bludoon roasted the lizard tail over some black grass. He cooked an assortment of mushrooms before stuffing the tail. He glazed the dish with a sauce made from crystal pear and black fruit wine. 2d6 need to be rolled to see how successful the dish is. While all the ingredients turned out to be of average quality, Bludoon's result will get a +1 in its reception by the Order of the Dragon for his choice of meat.

  • 100xp from treasure
  • Lizard Folk hunters defeated 3 x 25xp ea.
  • Giant Lizard slaughtered 1 x 275xp ea.

  • 90xp ea.

Downtime Activity- Find the Right Buyer

  Dungeons are packed with treasure. After all, isn't that why adventurers decide to plumb their depths? While treasure finds of items that spend easily like coins of precious metals, gems, and jewelry often make up the winnings of successful adventuring expeditions; they are not the only items of value a party will haul back to the surface world.  Eager to make the most out of a group's expeditions, they often grab anything that looks like one could turn over for a quick coin or two. To turn such items into gold, though, adventurers have to locate an interested party to sell these art objects, non-magical tomes, trade goods, and other valuable dungeon oddities. Downtime in the Twilight Age

Outside of sessions at the table, time in the Twilight Age moves at a pace that matches our own. So one week passed in our world = one week passed in the Twilight age. This, combined with the proscription of ending each play session outside of danger, will mean players will find their characters with time to kill back in Orm between adventures at the table. What Is There Even To Do In Orm? Below is a list of downtime activities players can pursue between sessions. Most take one week to perform and those that don't will say in their rules (like magical research). Details for each activity are linked into the action title below.
