Dragon Slayers (Demon Slayers?) of the Drinking Crow Session #50- Surfing Up the Inverted Waterfall

Following the Dragon Slayers (possibly name changing) adventure, Armen of the Twin Rivers and Crambo had set out celebrate. the pair hit every known watering hole in Orm from shots of halfling shine at Riverwine to a pint at the Burning Witch. They tasted the latest fall ciders at the market and had ladle fulls of mulled wine at the bonfires in the skeleton of the Subtle Chateau. It all was capped off late one night at last call at the Drinking Crow. A disagreement between members of the local Veterans of the Cerulean War hall and the Obstreperous Tangerines came to disagreement over the proper way to sing the Ormish standard,  "My Loves Eyes Were A Cerulean Blue". It was at the discussion of time signatures that retired Cornet Oswane Starr started punching the tempo into L'il PakPak-ee face causing a brawl to break out (some accounts say that L'il PakPak-ee gleeked onto Oswane Starr's medal of service in rhytm of the song's chorus first).

Regardless of who started instigated the brawl, by its end Armen and Crambo had proved their worth as able fighters standing up for Orm's proper traditions. It is just that the pair chose different sides in the brawl. Crambo was given the colors of the Obstreperous Tangerines who now treat the little goblin as one of their own. Meanwhile, Armen has been offered a chance to fill in the open Chapter Cleric spot that was vacated with the death of Miracle Worker Shilo. While Armen can only be given what they term a field appointment to the position due to his not serving in the Cerulean War, the veterans seemingly treat the cleric as one of their own.

The pair rejoined their fellow party members at the Drinking Crow after Father Bert had presented his dish to the members of the Bronze Dragon's entourage. Copra Kaan was himself fresh from a trip to the loan bank. There are growing rumors that their vaults are home to the Seven Swords of Copra Kaan- a collection of magical blades won by the antaur through blood and battle. Rumors that some find reinforced by Copra's gifting a sword to Armeen's retainer Jubal when the party regrouped.

Crambo's own hireling, Agera, produced the Caduceus Staff which she had traded with the kobold adventurer and entrepreneur PakPak to obtain. Possession of this magic staff combined with the groups retrieving of the Rillis Atamar Kerym a few weeks ago made clear to the party what their next move was: a visit to the Lunar Elves. The following group could be seen walking along the beach east of Orm towards the Iron Gate of the Rani:

  • Armeen of the Two Rivers (Level 3 Cleric of Danu)
    • Jubal (Level 1 Beastmaster)
      • Minotaur (hunting dog)
  • Copra Kaan (Level 6 Vat Spawn Antaur)
  • Crambo (Level 4 Magic-User)
    • Agera (Level 1 Fighting Mutant)
  • Father Bert (Level 4 Errant Friar of Arishem the Judge)
Later that afternoon, the party rang the bell at the Iron Gate. They were forced to pay 200gp in tax for the pair of adamantine doors they hauled out of 'The Complex'. The group returned to the Drinking Crow to divvy up the spoils of their last expedition before going their separate ways until their next delve.

Jubal and Agera hit the taverns of Orm spilling some of the details of the parties last dungeon excursion. The pair had a lot to say about the adventurers' audience with the lunar elves Aureul, Ruatit, Sarya, and Zandro under the skeleton of a dragon. As the groups shared wine and a mushroom dish, the elves asked for a recounting of the items retrieval. Ruatit could ascertain form the Rillis Atamar Kerym that several people, including Copra Kaan, had bonded with the spiritual weapon since the elf had last seen the magical sword. This knowledge chilled the elves reception of the adventurers. The use of the Rillis Atamar Kerym cost the party an invitation to the lunar home of the elves. Such a visit would now have to be allowed under consultation of the Dreaming Tree should the party seek to make such a trip.

The party were still offered a rewards for their efforts: a pair of spherical helms that granted breath, a bottle of water collected from the fountains of Lonar himself, and a vial of something called "Bacteria" that feasted on a chaotic force named "Radiation" by the Lunar Elves. The adventurers were also offered the honor of accompanying Ruatit and Aureul on their delve into the mythical "Black Pyramid" when it finally converges with this plane from one of dream sometime in the next three seasons. In the meantime, the Lunar Elves are interested in any information as to where specifically the "Black Pyramid" is to manifest.

Jubal and Agera also recounted how on the party's return to Level 3's secret entrance to the Pit, a cacophony of whispering voices soon started pursuing the group. Demons of the Sixth Shell stalked the adventurers for their role in the death of the Phlogerus last delve. Their specific level of grudge against Copra Kaan infuriated the antaur. In his research into the magic weapons known as the "Fangs of Phlogerus", Copra took away that beings of the Sixth Shell would only have enmity towards those that wielded the blades.

The demons chased the group to the secret door where the party discovered that their rope staked at the Pit's mouth had been removed. Father Bert chanted a prayer that kept the demons at bay long enough for the group to hastily try something they had been wanting to experiment with- the threw the adamantine doors on the waterfall and rode them up the inverted waterfall up to Level 1. There, a guard had been left have the forces of the Eye of Terror after they had discovered the rope left at the top. A quick magic missile from Crambo fell the vat spawned trooper. The party then made a quick exit to the surface world.
