Burning Witch Adventurers Session #63- The Secret Stair

The Magician Phasmo sent out a call to the adventurers he had shared his last dungeon delve with. He wanted to find out more about the "demonic mirror beings" they had encountered on that adventure. They agreed that they wanted to know more but they felt they had few leads. Too late, as well, Phasmo had received the results of his inquiry into arcane symbols on the pedestals on which the celestial orbs floated so the group did not have time to rope Journeyman Crannoc into their plans. PakPak, though, was especially eager to do business with the the dwarves Fiddle and Faddle on Level 3 (the same level the party had encountered the "demonic mirror beings"). The following group decided to head down to the beach and start heads towards Level 3 to look for clues:

The party:

  • Hate Pit (Level 4 Vat Spawn)
  • PakPak (Level 5 Kobold)
    • Smokey Proag (Level 2 Halfling hireling)
  • Phasmo (Level 4 Magic-User)
    • Lirazil (Level 1 Elf retainer)
  • Wolfgang (Level 3 Duelist)

No one had seen the party return. Not from the cliff-side entrance nor form the one buried in the ruin of Orm-of-Old. Yet, there they were seen in the Burning Witch where they divided up coin and other treasure. They shared with the fellow adventuring patrons of the Witch that the southeastern staircase to the Great Cavern on Level 3 was now cut off form the rest of the Complex. The stair, though, was not completely inaccessible as there was a stair discovered nearby that leads to a previously unnoticed cellar of the Athenaeum of the Dying Sun.

It was there that Hate Pit declared to the room that the Brothers have been enslaved by the Eye of Terror. They wanted to know who would join them in a offensive to try to free their vat-created cousins from this dire fate.

Hate Pit's player Marie drew a distressing encounter the party had on this latest delve.

PakPak and Wolfgang too could be seen hatching schemes for future adventure. Wolfgang, feeling pressed by the request of the Lunar Elf Ruaiat, wanted to try to reclaim their stolen magical weapons form the Cave Elves hiding deep in the Twilight Shores. This was a mission PakPak was more than eager to take on. After the pair agreed to discuss the matter further, PakPak headed across the square of the Monument of the Old Gods towards the ShopShop with a jiggling bag over his shoulder.

  • A demonic idol worth 1,600gp
