Dragon Slayers of the Drinking Crow Session #20- The Death of Valtropis

 Two librarians of the Athenaeum of the Dying Sun, Journeyman Crannoc and Scamandros, did something not seen in many months: made the walk across Orm from the Burning Witch to join a party from the Drinking Crow. The duo dipped briefly into the Crow before a party stepped out to make that familiar walk down the beach to the cavernous dungeon entrance. The following were among the number that set to free Bors Redbeard (Level 4 Dwarf) and parley with Valtropis, called by some the Sorcerer King:

  • Copra Kaan (Level 3 Vat Spawn)
  • Fredrick Featherstone (Level 4 Vestigater)
  • Journeyman Crannoc (Level 4 Magic-User)
  • Malagath Finbaros (Level 3 Elf)
  • Scamandros (Level 4 Magic-User)
  • Willow the Wisp (Level 2 Illusionist)
Valtropis as he looked the last time Bors Redbeard saw him alive.


The group returned with the eldest Redbeard brother in tow. Scamandros, sometimes called 'Riverborn', was covered in blood and his dominate hand stained red. The mark binding him from the service of the Imperial Mother was absent from his hand. The party also carried an adamantine table as well as an assortment of jars and vials. The group was seen burying something near the butcher's before parting ways. Copra Kaan headed off in the direction of PakPak's ShopShop in an armor of scales that shimmered under the light of the late day. Found on the ground, near the spot the party dug up, was a slip of paper with the following written on it:

Copra Kään’s To-Do List:

-Rescue Bors. 
-Buy some armor. 
-Receive some fruit from some little dudes. 
-Pick some fruit. 
-Get some jars of stuff. 
-Fight some weird dudes. 
-Acquire some furniture on our way out.

    • Jars of quartz crystals 2 x 500gp ea.
    • Jars with a spring of wolfsbane 1
    • Vials of  a fluorescent water-like substance 2
    • Vial of a powdered white substance 1
  • A vial containing a sample of a strange clear ichor (which Scamandros mention giving to Phasmo)

  • Valtropis' stab in the heart 1 x 65xp ea.
  • Spatial-Distorting Ravenous Beings 8 x 125xp ea.

Downtime Activity- Find the Right Buyer

  Dungeons are packed with treasure. After all, isn't that why adventurers decide to plumb their depths? While treasure finds of items that spend easily like coins of precious metals, gems, and jewelry often make up the winnings of successful adventuring expeditions; they are not the only items of value a party will haul back to the surface world.  Eager to make the most out of a group's expeditions, they often grab anything that looks like one could turn over for a quick coin or two. To turn such items into gold, though, adventurers have to locate an interested party to sell these art objects, non-magical tomes, trade goods, and other valuable dungeon oddities. Downtime in the Twilight Age

Outside of sessions at the table, time in the Twilight Age moves at a pace that matches our own. So one week passed in our world = one week passed in the Twilight age. This, combined with the proscription of ending each play session outside of danger, will mean players will find their characters with time to kill back in Orm between adventures at the table. What Is There Even To Do In Orm? Below is a list of downtime activities players can pursue between sessions. Most take one week to perform and those that don't will say in their rules (like magical research). Details for each activity are linked into the action title below.
