Burning Witch Adventurers Session #9 **Updated**

Image
A group of adventurers have been huddled in the back of the Burning Witch off and on all week centered around the gnome Gawoosh. The burrower desired to alleviate the plight that a clan of his people in the "Complex" faced at the hands of the Order of the Illuminated Eye. The distressing news from the last party to mount an expedition from the tavern and lack of a plan confident of sure success, the Gawoosh scrapped his plan and the group just decided to explore a previously unexplored section of the "Complex". The group numbered: Bors Redbeard (Level 1 Dwarf) His brothers Lefty and Whiskers (Level 1 Dwarves) Feeble Finn (Level 1 Dwarf) Frim Frimerson (Level 1 Fighter) Gawoosh (Level 1 Gnome) PakPak (Level 1 Kobold) Thea Noir (Level 1 Assassin) The party returned, for the first time in nearly a fortnite, battered but intact and all living. The dwarven brothers gleefully singing the praised of Frim the Spear Dicked. Late into the night, the Burning Wit...

Burning Witch Adventurers Session #8 **Updated**

Midweek has come again which means another party of adventurers traveled to the "Complex" along with Cerulean Sea. The weather is the best it has been this year and the bloated red sun only vaguely melancholic. In  hind sight, maybe it should have been a bit sadder for another causality hit the adventuring community of Orm. It has been a bloody week. The particular party facing this most recent particular tragedy was: Avreml Oofnik (Level 1 Beet Thief) Betina (Level 1 Fighter) Kay Em Dee (0-Level Tuff) Journeyman Crannoc (Level 1 Magic-user) Merry Mako, the Singing Spearman (Level 1 Fighter) Phasmo (Level 1 Magic-User) Cadmium (faithful steed)  Richie Bando (Level 1 Thief), deceased Sergio Canksore (Level 1 Half-Elf) Here is a Phasmo's summation the events of the delve (composed by the magic-user's player, Ben):   We gathered at the Burning Witch, a band of capable souls, five strong. I, Phasmo, lens grinder and ardent student of nature; the Jo...

The Festival of the Vernal Equiniox Has Come to Orm and Other News...

Another fortnite has passed in the Ur-Dun region. Spring  Here are the top stories everyone in the taverns and market of Orm have been talking about: The adventurers of the Drinking Crow held a proper burial for recently fallen fellow party members Rustam of the Twin Lakes, Fräänk Shäärk, and minion to Elvria Wyld, Tom the Ax Bro. Gabby held a reception at the Crow afterwards. The Burning Witch  has been a flurry of activity among the itinerant treasure-seekers that have been swashing about Orm of late. Rosey, barkeep of the Witch , has been grateful for the extra coin as the youthful lager louts known to hang their capes at the establishment seem to be of dwindling numbers these days. When not offering toasts to Feeble Finn and his lost leg nor to PakPak the Kobold and his lost toes, the ale guzzlers buzz as to what large scale sortie the gnome Gawoosh seems to be concocting. Unionization! Figurehead of the youthful tuffs of the Burning Witch (and Prestidigitation...

The Greatest Thieves in Orm

Image
Thieves Guilds Whether it be petty larcenies, street side  flimflam, or complicatedly executed heists: all crime in Ur-Dun's population centers are run through the local thieves guild. While none reach the grand scale of the syndicate that once regulated all criminal pursuits in the nearby seat of the Empire-That-Was, these operations can still operate with a masterful secrecy and ruthless efficiency matching even the most storied guild of days passed. The guilds of Ur-Dun vary greatly in internal custom, style, and work culture but they do share several traits across region that allow thieves and other criminals to practice with craft smoothly and the guilds to maintain their parochial power bases. Some of them include: License of Operations - Anyone seeking to work within the territory of a guild needs to pay a monthly cost of 2d10gp per month. Anyone caught operating but not having paid for license quickly find themselves on a guild hit list. Thieves Cant and Code -...
