The Fell Halls Beneath Dungeon World
It is these halls the Game Master has solicited for adventurers to tidied them up. He had been banished from all corporal realms for eons untold but, recently, that has all turned around. In his absence, subjects neglected their duties. Age brought disrepair. Opportunity welcomed unruly squatters. He really wants to get these underground halls just like how he likes them but it will be centuries before he will possess enough physical form to do so himself. He is asking adventurers to act in his stead. In exchange for aiding him in this endeavor, he offers a home (demi-)plane and the promise of treasure to those souls lost out in the Astral Sea. All of that for only either 5% tax on valuable treasure due upon egress from the Halls or a 10% deferred tax paid for said value for a whole year due on Taxgiving. Of these halls he wants put in order in exchange for the treasures and secrets that lie within, this is known:
*The Alabaster Hall are one of the most accessible. All that is needed to enter is a valid permit to be presented to the Alabaster Guardians and up-to-date tax payments. Regrettably, the tunnels are said to be filled with O.R.K.s. They were engineered as Organisms Redesigned for Killing in an attempt to create better heel competitors for pit fights at the Onyx Gardens. They went rogue and are now consumed by the blind vengeance against the Game Master and his subjects.
*The Beryl Hall is accessible by ferry across the Viridian Basin. At the docks are stationed a squad of the dragoons of Dungeon World. The guards unlock the Hall's gates every morning for any properly licensed on-comers to try their luck. This easy access means these halls are some of the most visited but that doesn’t stop them from teeming with goblin kind.
*The Obsidian Hall is not officially accessible from surface egress but delving parties have been granted permission to trek through its bounds if they find entry from another hall. There are rumors swirling around the grounds of the Ivory Pinnacles that tax collectors are quietly trying to put an end to parties accessing this water-filled underworld through an off the books entrance.
*The Ruby Hall houses the only surface egress from Dungeon World’s underworld exempt from the Game Master’s taxes. All it takes is the purchase of a souvenir ring at the Ruby Mausoleum enter below. This opportunity exists because there are few things the Game Master finds more repugnant than the undead servitors of Black Pyramid that infest the catacombs below. He wants them gone!
*The Sapphire Hall exists in mystery. Once, the Hall served as a test for the Game Master's greatest champions. The knowledge of its exact location of its surface entrance has been lost for generations. Rumor has it that the most fearsome of the threats found below Dungeon World tread its passages. That no one in memory has tale of a delve from its depths makes most think those rumors hold truth.
