Demon Slayers of the Drinking Crow Sessions #52 to #58- The Trial of the Dreaming Tree

After some hemming and hawing around the Drinking Crow, the adventurers called the Demon Slayers had decided to fix their standing with the Lunar Elves camped out on Level 3 of 'The Complex'. After some perceived transgressions by the adventurers with the magical Rillis Atamyr Kerym, Kedrim Sarya presented a path towards atonement to the party. If they succeeded a spiritual trial offered up by the elves' Dreaming Tree, they would be able to travel with the Lunar Elves back to their home.

The following party left the Drinking Crow on a late autumn morning, heading towards the Athanaeum of the Dying Sun:

  • Armeen of the Two Rivers (Level 3 Cleric of Danu)
    • Jubal (Level 1 Beast Master retainer)
    • Minotaur (hunting dog)
  • Copra Kaan (Level 6 Vat Spawn Antaur)
  • Crambo (Level 4 Magic-User)
    • Agera (Level 1 Fighting Mutant)
  • Father Bert (Level 4 Errant Friar of Arishem the Judge)
The party returned to Orm only briefly. Several of them were armed with magic weapons that strikingly matched a few already floating around Orm. Copra Kaan had a new left arm that looked very much like that of his creator, the deceased vat-spawn Dragón Slayer named V'Naïss Two-Face.

Copra looked like he took a heavy beating during the trial and rested up while the party was in town. Father Bert didn't spend much time at his food stall but instead studied about the Ivory Gleam in the book he found. Armeen spend his time having One-Arm convert one of the burn out buildings in Orm into an inconsequential inn to house the Phantamorians and there entourage, Crambo traveled off to the Twilight Shores to carouse. Jubal and Agera were seen carousing around Orm (with Agera making a total fool of herself). The whole party collected 1000gp to split among them for gas sold over at Sweet Dreams.

Armeen lost her hair to a breath attack.

In the Demon Slayers' company was a group of around two dozen alien beings that call themselves of "Phantamorians" (along with an additional dozen or so hangers ons) under the leadership of a "Knight of the Ivory Gleam" named Zaxxon. These Phantamorians describe themselves as "travelers", beings with one male consciousness and one female. Word is they were the crew of a wrecked ship hailing from some distant place known as Phantamoria. Most of the Phantamorians and their followers are remaining around Orm and the Complex, three of their number named the Mentat Momax, the squire Kalamoro, and crew member Vadid rejoined the Demon Slayers as they left to regroup with the Lunar Elves.

I forgot to list among the treasure that Crambo now has a dagger that summons a Shadow Copra that functions as a stead for the magic-user turned goblin.

Downtime Activity- Find the Right Buyer

  Dungeons are packed with treasure. After all, isn't that why adventurers decide to plumb their depths? While treasure finds of items that spend easily like coins of precious metals, gems, and jewelry often make up the winnings of successful adventuring expeditions; they are not the only items of value a party will haul back to the surface world.  Eager to make the most out of a group's expeditions, they often grab anything that looks like one could turn over for a quick coin or two. To turn such items into gold, though, adventurers have to locate an interested party to sell these art objects, non-magical tomes, trade goods, and other valuable dungeon oddities. Downtime in the Twilight Age

Outside of sessions at the table, time in the Twilight Age moves at a pace that matches our own. So one week passed in our world = one week passed in the Twilight age. This, combined with the proscription of ending each play session outside of danger, will mean players will find their characters with time to kill back in Orm between adventures at the table. What Is There Even To Do In Orm? Below is a list of downtime activities players can pursue between sessions.
