Demon Slayers of the Drinking Crow Session #51- Gargoyles! Not more gargoyles!!!

The adventurers based out of the Drinking Crow (having adopted the new moniker of 'Demon Slayers' after the events of a recent adventure) gathered at their regular spot in the tavern to celebrate! Father Bert had won the cooking competition run by the Order of the Dragon. While the errant friar nearly achieved culinary perfection with his 'Saucisse Sous La Vapeurn D'Enfer', the skill was expertly matched by the stuffed lizard prepared by the dungeon chef Bludoon. In the final cook off set against the Order of the Dragon's Hunter's Moon feast, Father Bert prevailed against his dwarfin rival. To this, the Demon Slayers raised their glasses.

The stranger that claimed to be Armeen of the Two-Rivers

Attempting to join their table was person claiming to be Armeen. These person had a higher pitched voice, more pronounced cheek bones, longer hair, and a smaller frame than the cleric. They seemed like a stranger. The group seemed unconvinced by this person's claims of a drunken relationships with a woman that lead to Armeen waking in the body of his sexual partner. Armeen had just sworn off drinking after all! The damage to the cleric's nose in the second bar fight in a month had him jumping on the wagon. It finally took a test proposed by Father Bert to convince him of Armeen's identity. This supposed fellow Demon Slayer was presented two hypothetical resolutions to a dungeoneering dilemma. Without hesitation, the person claiming to Armeen picked the solution that was more reckless and riskier to the health of the cleric. With that, the party knew this was, in fact, their comrade.

Armeen bemoaned their poor financial state after recent events. With that, the following group set off towards Level 3 of 'The Complex' on a hunt for treasure:

  • Armeen of the Two Rivers (Level 3 Cleric of Danu)
    • Jubal (Level 1 Beast Master retainer)
      • Minotaur (hunting dog)
  • Copra Kaan (Level 6 Vatspawn Antaur)
  • Crambo (Level 4 Goblin Magic-User)
    • Agera (Level 1 Fighting-Mutant retainer)
  • Father Bert (Level 4 Errant Friar of Arishem the Judge)
Agera, the furred dagger-throwing mutant, by the employer's player Rob B.

The party never reappeared at the Rani's Iron Door. Late in the evening, they were seen among the stacks at the Athenaum of the Dying Sun. Several party members looked in a bad way. Among them included Armeen, Agera, and Copra Kaan. The antaur look the worst off as he was now missing both an eye and an arm. The one eye Copra did have was not the one he entered 'The Complex' with as it looked to be made of stone itself. Before the party went their separate ways, Copra Kaan gave Armeen two crystal pears and 200gp for his efforts to save Copra. As they walked away, Agrea could be overheard marveling at Crambo's interactions with some vat spawn warriors of a sorcerer king named "Valtropis." She believed her employer was in a good spot to build a relationship there.

The following ichor covered piece of paper was found on the stair's leading into the Athenaeum's cellar:
