Dragon Slayers of the Drinking Crow Session #41- Magical Visions

The Dragon Slayers finally had their poison to use against the forces of the Eye of Terror. Petra P., though had doubts about how the rat poison was easily detected. The elf was much more interested the magical auras she was seeing thanks to a strange draft she downed while carousing along the Twilight Shores. She pushed for seeking out magical treasure over a poisoning of the alcohol the gnomes Tipsy Tom and Petunia provided to the Eye of Terrors guards. The rest a trio of Dragon Slayers were convinced. The following party were notated in the logs of the 111th Company entering through the Iron Gate following Petra's magically attuned lead:

    • Rex (Level 1 Ne'er-Do-Well retainer)
  • Copra Kaan (Level 6 Vat Spawn Antaur)
  • Father Bert (Level 2 Errant Friar of Arisham the Judge)
  • Petra P. (Level 2 Elf)
    • Sunya Strong (Level 2 Fighter hireling)
The party returned battered and bruised through the Iron Gate. They paid a 15gp tax to the Rani for three barrels of wine they hauled out of the dungeon. An additional 3sp and 8cp were hande dover. Amu and Iben split lead the group north to the Impossible Fortress to sell the wine to Emissary Volver. After splitting up their earnings, the group parted ways for the week.

The following wine-stained note was found by minor member of the Emissary's retinue which was seen being slipped to member of the castle staff:

Copra Kään’s To-Do List:

-Enter The Complex. 
-Immediately take a spear to the chest AGAIN.
-Kill those bastards. 
-Run into some Brothers and evolved ape-men AGAIN. 
-Kill the ape-men. 
-Knock out all the Brothers after they were kind enough to line up and turn around for us. 
-Down to Level 2. 
-Get chased.
-Hide out in a room.
-Find some barrels of wine. 
-Start to leave. 
-Get chased again. 
-Stupid tax. 

Sunya Strong wandered off to carouse among the streets of Orm. Later in the week she was seen among the throngs of cultists that are devoted to the Cult of the Sphinxes of Danu. Members of the crowd overheard Sunya's recounting of her delve to the Sphinxes (once freed by the Dragon Slayers) as part of her iniation into their cult. They heard of battles against humanoids born from vats with many eyes. These were followed by a tale of good and loyal vat born guards that stood firm against the party in their devotion to protect their less combat capable brothers. The party offered to take them with them or to help them rise up against the occupying forces of the Eye of Terror. The guards petitioned that they suffer increasing pressure from the forces of the Eye due to their guard post being assaulted two previous times in the last week and their failure to stop it. They said that their brothers would start suffering consequences if they failed again. They did offer to assist the party if they would move against the Eye of Terror themself that very day. Before an agreement could be reached, reinforcements approached, The party subdued the squad of guard before slipping down into the second level of the dungeon. 

Sunya told of how upon reaching the bottom of the stairs, the Dragon Slayers could here the sound of the pursuers at the top f the stairs. South of the abandoned guard post of the Red Hive, the half-elf Amu Iben gained the power to cause fear by touching a set of pillars to spell "V-I-R-T-A-S". Heading further south, passing a statue with a paper mache head of the Imperial Mother, the party hid in a room that used to be a lab or something. While the party rested and waited for the pursuers to pass them by, Petra P. discovered a vial with some sort of magic vision she temporarily possessed. To hid better or something, the group went into a secret room behind a curtain where they found barrels of wine. They strapped two the sides of their antaur and made Sunya carry the third.

After waiting things out, the group checked a room to the north east. Their were frescoes featuring scenes of good fortune and Petra said the door out of the room glowed with magic (the party couldn't open it). While it reminded them of a door in a room with art featuring harvests, they couldn't make heads or tails of it. The group decided to cut their losses and headed out the dungeon with their wine.

Wrapping up her tale, Sunya forked over all 926gp, 5sp, and 53cp of her wealth to fund the Sphinxes and their cult.

Downtime Activity- Find the Right Buyer

  Dungeons are packed with treasure. After all, isn't that why adventurers decide to plumb their depths? While treasure finds of items that spend easily like coins of precious metals, gems, and jewelry often make up the winnings of successful adventuring expeditions; they are not the only items of value a party will haul back to the surface world.  Eager to make the most out of a group's expeditions, they often grab anything that looks like one could turn over for a quick coin or two. To turn such items into gold, though, adventurers have to locate an interested party to sell these art objects, non-magical tomes, trade goods, and other valuable dungeon oddities. Downtime in the Twilight Age

Outside of sessions at the table, time in the Twilight Age moves at a pace that matches our own. So one week passed in our world = one week passed in the Twilight age. This, combined with the proscription of ending each play session outside of danger, will mean players will find their characters with time to kill back in Orm between adventures at the table. What Is There Even To Do In Orm? Below is a list of downtime activities players can pursue between sessions.
