Burning Witch Adventurers Session #74- First Strike

After being separated by the myriad of out-of-Orm adventurers that have occurred over recent months, a group of old adventuring companions reunited at the Burning Witch. Hot on their tongues was talk of Phasmo's plan to assassinate the Beholder at the head of the Eye of Terror (or maybe even the Eye of Terror themself?). With Phasmo and his fellow party members making in roads with the mutant tribe essential to the Eye's food chain, the group decided try to make allies in the next link: the Brothers. After a stop to hire the services of an old ally (and for Frim to ask after how Murfy is doing), the following party decided down to the beach and the cliff-side dungeon entrance:

  • Frim Frimerson (Level 2 Fighter)
  • GaWoosh (Level 4 Gnome)
    • Ur-Kel (Level 2 Vat Spawn Knight retainer)
  • Hate Pit (Level 4 Vat Spawn)
  • PakPak (Level 5 Kobold)
  • Thea Noir (Level 4 Assassin)
The party returned light on treasure but mostly unharmed. They did, however, take to the Container six prisoners that looked like this:

Treasure

  • 13gp
  • A gaming set made from some bones (claimed by someone but I can't remember who)
  • 20 javelins (worth 1gp ea.) 

Experience Points

  • 13xp from treasure
  • Guards of the Eye of Terror killed 5 x 15xp
  • Guards of the Eye of Terror captured 6 x 15xp

Player Character Cut

  • 2gp, 1sp, and 6cp ea. (8gp, 2sp, and 5cp ea. if all the javelins are sold)
  • 65xp ea.

Special Downtime Activity: Deprogram Prisoners

The vats spawn adventurer, Hate Pit, petitioned the party to allow them to take their captives to the Container. They planned to place these six vat spawn warriors created by the Eye of Terror in the hands of Glow Pit and the Container to try to undo the indoctrination done by their creator. To spend a downtime deprogramming the prisoners, Glow Pit's player must say what their approach is and rolled 2d6 (modified by Glow Pit's reaction roll and any situational elements that might modify the roll). Glow Pit must make 4 successes before they succeed.

Currently, Glow Pit has one success.

GaWoosh and the Invisible Mailbox

A half dozen prisoners was not all that the party returned from the Complex with. GaWoosh had retrieve a magic box he had left in the hidden cave near the cliff-side entrance to the Complex. Inside are a serious of letters from the Foreman describing the growing threat of the Eye of Terror to the Brothers. He also describes the slowing of trade in the market as the Imperial Mother and the Eye of Terror firm up borders to their territory.  The letter plead to GaWoosh to intervene as the Foreman worries about the Eye of Terror moving across Level 1 and into the Brother's Borough.  At which point, the letters stop.
