Burning Witch Adventurers Session #22- The Private Chambers of Zaza Zafor

Several of the adventurers that frequent the Burning Witch got caught up in by Journeyman Crannoc and Phasmo' discussions of dealing with the mosquitoes unleashed on Level 2 of "The Complex". There was a fascination with Crannoc's unwieldy mosquito suits and Phasmo's dreams of what may lie behind some admantine doors. As a plan began to congeal, none objected to Crannoc's desire for a quick aside to visit a magically sealed door on Level 1. The following adventurers were seen taking stock of their insect repellent as the left the tavern:

  • Abraxis (Level 1 Fighting-Mutant)
  • GaWoosh (Level 1 Gnome)
  • Journeyman Crannoc (Level 3 Magic-User)
    • Lizarel (Level 1 hireling Elf)
  • Phasmo (Level 2 Magic-User)
  • Thea Noir (Level 3 Assassin) 
  • Wolfgang (Level 1 Duelist)

The party returned from the dungeon very ragged. Wolfgang badly hurt and Thea with a wound in her torso that ran all the way through. Both of their mouths stained black. They also were carrying a large painting of a wizened old man with incredibly bushy eyebrows.

Loot

  • 12 moldy and water damaged tomes
  • 1 invisible coffer
  • 300sp
  • 1 scroll of confusion
  • 1 scroll of leviation
  • 1 painting of Zaza Zafor worth 100gp

Experience Points

  • Undead whirlwind defeated 1 x 30xp
  • Diminutive skeleton footman defeated 4 x 10xp
  • Mossy Slime defeated 1 x 25xp

Player Character Cut

  • 15gp, 51sp, and 5cp ea (7gp and 21sp to Lirazel)
  • 36xp ea.
A few folks in Orm would be willing to buy the invisible coffer. No xp will be gained from the sale. Do you want to divide it as you have other treasure from the expedition? The buyers include:
  • Yoseppi the loan banker will pay 1000gp for the coffer.
  • Some rakish young lady that claims to be Sir Rolf Van Pattyn of the Midnight Marauders offers 1000gp.
  • The Enchantress, the magic-user advisor to the Rani and an member of the Transcendental Congress of the Aureate Precepts will pay 900gp.
  • Emissary Volver of the Freecity of Barbasso, a guest of the Impossible Fortress, will offer 1100gp.

Downtime Activity- Find the Right Buyer

  Dungeons are packed with treasure. After all, isn't that why adventurers decide to plumb their depths? While treasure finds of items that spend easily like coins of precious metals, gems, and jewelry often make up the winnings of successful adventuring expeditions; they are not the only items of value a party will haul back to the surface world.  Eager to make the most out of a group's expeditions, they often grab anything that looks like one could turn over for a quick coin or two. To turn such items into gold, though, adventurers have to locate an interested party to sell these art objects, non-magical tomes, trade goods, and other valuable dungeon oddities. Downtime in the Twilight Age

Outside of sessions at the table, time in the Twilight Age moves at a pace that matches our own. So one week passed in our world = one week passed in the Twilight age. This, combined with the proscription of ending each play session outside of danger, will mean players will find their characters with time to kill back in Orm between adventures at the table. What Is There Even To Do In Orm? Below is a list of downtime activities players can pursue between sessions. Most take one week to perform and those that don't will say in their rules (like magical research). Details for each activity are linked into the action title below.
