Adventurers of the Drinking Crow Session 3

The adventurers of the Drinking Crow had a special guest from the crosstown Burning Witch crew for their third delve into danger. The adventurers present included:
  • Fräänk Shäärk (Level 1 Thief)
  • Malagath Feneros (Level 1 Elf)
  • PakPak  (Level 1 Kobold)
    • Mad Dooge 20/99 (0-Level Tuff)
  • Rustam of the Twin Lakes (Level 1 Cleric of Danu)
    • Lefty, Whiskers, and Bors Redbeard (all siblings and Level 1 Dwarves)
After Rustam's last visit into the dungeon inside the cliff face, he made overtures to a collective of follow adventurers operating out of the Burning Witch for some sort of mutually beneficial relationship. Intrigued, PakPak moseyed on over from the Burning Witch to see what the cleric's offer was all about. After a little bit of shop talk, PakPak (along with his hired muscle Mad Dooge 20/99) decided to join up with Rustam and his Drinking Crow compatriots of Malagath Feneros and Fräänk Shäärk for a journey into the dungeons. The party decided to hire on Drinking Crow owner Gabby's relatives Lefty, Whiskers, and Bors Redbeard to keep the dwarfish trio from getting into further trouble.

Below is Rustam's account on what transpired next:

The Madness of Rustam of the Twin Lake
Entry three,
In our third expedition to the dungeon, we were joined by Pak Pak, a kobald from the group that associates in The Burning Witch.  Elvira, likely still mourning the loss of Gene Vieve, stayed back this time. Pak Pak brought with us a local hired hand from The Burning Witch, while Malagath, Fräänk and I hired the three dwarven brothers, Lefty, Boors, and Whiskers.
Once we entered the dungeon, we explored a little bit, we found a room that Pak Pak said that his other group had already been, and the door leading out from that room was trapped, we tried to open it up while flanking the door to prevent us from getting hurt from the trap, but the door would not budge.  Disappointed with those results, we decided to look for the underground market.  This proved easy enough to find, but we did have to disarm before entering.  While in the market, we found a tailor and both a few articles of clothing, and it seems like Fräänk commissioned a vest of some sort.  At the beer tent there, we met a lion faced humanoid named Leopold.  In our conversation, we found that the dungeon is ruled by a being called the Queen Mother, and that there is an arena in the second floor.  When I asked if there was a way we could join to fight in there, he laughed and said no one volunteers to fight in it, which I took to mean as this could be an untapped potential for untold treasure.  Another revelation was that while the Brothers and the Illuminated Eye did not believe of the outside, there were beings in here that knew about it. So madness might not run as rampant in here as I once thought.
After our conversation, we set up to try and find the arena in the second floor.  Initially, trying to follow the way Leopold told us, we were not able to, but the Brothers were able to point us into a direction to steps to the second floor.  Once there, we saw some marvelous pillars in the landing room.  One of the exits was guarded by some beings, which we did not tangle with. We decided to go north first, which had a turning gate of some sort.  I crossed over first, only to be met with two crossbow bolts being fired at me with no warning what-so-ever! Luckily, one missed and I was able to deflect the second one with my shield.  We then decided to enter the southern room.  I feel there is a secret here that we did not uncover.  The six pillars in this room were all made of different substances and each had a letter on them.  There was also an alcove with a geometric shaped statue in it.  While we were inspecting it, we were set upon by four undead creatures.
During this battle, I was filled with the spirit of Danu and was able to channel her powers for the first time, as one of the creatures was expelled by Her Holiness, but not all was well, we lost Pak Pak’s associate.  We made quick work of the remaining monsters and we left the area.  We went to where Pak Pak said Drüg’s body was.  When we got there, we saw Drüg’s and Whelin’s bodies sitting in chairs inside of some cells.  We went to get Drüg’s body and they both rose again! We were able to close and spike Whelin’s cell door shut, and tie up Drüg’s body and bring it back to his father.  Pak Pak and Iouri Vas then made some sort of deal which hopefully will be fruitful to the both of them.
I hope that this expedition with Pak Pak will be the start of many more trips with both us and the Burning Witch crew working together.
