The Maddness of Rustam of the Twin Lakes
Entry one
It’s been nearly a week since we left that accursed dungeon. Since sipping of the water, I haven’t been able to get the nightmares out of my mind. ‘A simple test to see if this is fresh or salt water.’ I thought…what a fool. Along with that, a curse to make me a fool, uncontrollable flatulence. What have I done to get the ire of the gods? Have I not been pure and noble of purpose? I must redeem myself in the name of my lord, However, if I am to been afflicted with the memory of this dream for the duration of my life, I want this journal to be a log of my decent into madness. Hopefully this will not be the case, and I can shake of these dark thoughts.
The dungeon is cursed though, no doubt about it. The bone alter that makes one laugh, the waters of madness, and those dwarves that don’t seem to be affected at all, or maybe they are far gone than we can ever know and now serve a nefarious purpose. We must investigate more, I must remove the curse of the dungeon! I simply must! I hear of another party entering the dungeon, if I only knew of their intentions earlier, I would have spoken to them, given them warnings, whether they would heed the warnings or not is their choice, but they could have at least benefitted from our knowledge at some point! This dungeon, it cannot be cleansed with competition and jealously between groups, it must be done in a concerted effort! These writings must seem like crazy ramblings, but there must be a log for myself at least, and if one finds this after I die or have succumbed to complete madness, I hope this serves as a lesson as to what to avoid in the future.
